Forums Shut Down For A While...

I've been getting too much spam in the forums, and Drupal doesn't have good Forum moderation features, so I'm going to shut them down for a while. If you have a Stellent or Content Management question, please post your question to one of the other public forums:

If you have a question specific to the book, leave a comment on the official page:

Or just attach a comment to this forum post...

Have you tried the question captcha?

I have been using this on all of my sites and it works much better than the multiple word captcha.

yep...

the problem isn't the captcha, its that forum posts don't have built-in moderation (at least in Drupal 4.7)

No matter what captcha I used, a good handful of spammers would bypass it by doing it manually! I need a second layer of moderation.

I supposed I should be flattered that people are manually spamming my site, but I'm not.

Mercury in Compact Fluoresent Light Bulbs

I would like to use the article you did on mercury in compact fluoresent light bulbs in our monthly magazine and of course your name for credit purposes.

Let me know if you will allow such. You may view our newsletter portion of the magazine from our website under Bluestem News if you want to see where it will be located in our magazine.

Thanks so much for your consideration, -Ron

approval granted...

I just kind of threw that article together... let me know if you'd like me to clean it up a bit.

SCS Connections to LDAP

We are encountering an interesting problem and was wondering if you could provide some insight. After setting the LdapConnectionTimeoutInMins to 1 on our SCS 7.5 instance, we were still experiencing some connections on our LDAP that were not timing out or closing until many hours after establishment, causing us to cap out on the max connections allowed by our LDAP. What would cause these to hang on and not let go? Do you know if the connections are tied to the web session, perhaps? So, maybe if a user connects, then walks away, it would keep that connection open? I'm really reaching the limits of my expertise with this one, so would appreciate any suggestions.

interesting...

could you post your question to one of the online forums?

I might not have time to answer, but there are several other folks who might have insight...
