Want Oracle ECM Training? Join me in Chicago March 18th!

Hey folks... Oracle's a bit short on ECM resources at the moment, so I'll be teaching their ECM Partner Training course -- aka "boot camp" -- for a while. We already had a packed event in Atlanta. The next one is in Chicago, the week of March 18th. You can register for it online via Tesserae.

Yep... that's the day after St Patrick's day. We wisely decided to start at noon on the 18th...

The agenda will be geared mainly for partners who want to get up to speed on what content management is, and how to sell it. The first half day will be an intro to the main ECM products, and installation of the software on your laptops. The second day is all about configuring the core content server (security, metadata, workflows, etc). The third day will be web content management (Site Studio), the ECM roadmap, and some help on positioning and sales. The fourth day will be advanced topics: records management, performance tuning, integrating with app servers, and whatever else I can cram in!

Its a lot of ground to cover... but it will be a thorough overview, plus some deep-dive on the final day.

We're also planning a class in Redwood Shores some time in May... we're still hammering out the details with Oracle. I'll let you know when the date is set.

Any news?

Hi, do you know if there's still a chance of an UCM Boot Camp class in Redwood Shores in May?
It's been a bit hard to get good (or any) UCM training here in Europe, so California isn't so far away
after all..

check with tesserae

Don't know... These guys are doing all the logistics:

If there's sufficient demand, they'll schedule something. Otherwise there might be a delay.

Oracle/Stellent Development Resources

As it's publish date is '06, how relevant is "The Definitive Guide to Stellent" to the product as it exists now (post Oracle)? I have recently switched jobs and will be implementing Oracle's ECM Suite and so far, am having difficulty finding a lot of resources/documentation on the product (especially in regards to iDocScript, the APIs and examples of various functionality built on top of the Content Server). Any thoughts?

Cheers.

it's still relevant

If you are writing customizations, it is still mostly relevant... especially if you are using IdocScript or any kind of Java customization. It was written for version 7.5, which is what most people are still on right now. The version after that -- 10gr3 -- has a few more features, but this book will still get you most of the way there.

I probably will not write one for 10gr3, I might make one for 11g...

ECM Training

I am interested in doing some ECM user training.
I am one of the admin folks but not responsible for the system configuration.
Thanks for any info.

Oracle UCM trainings in 2010

Hi !

Do you know some good training companies that provide hands on training on Oracle UCM ?

I have been looking on the internet, and I can't find any.

Thanks!

Re: Oracle UCM trainings in 2010

I know of a few... I helped IRA put together some of their training program, so I'd naturally recommend them first ;-)

Need help on Oracle UCM HCSF

Hi,
I just have started working on Oracle UCM. I am majorly stuck with web form (HCSF).

Below is the form code,

<!-- All input fields and conditional code -->

If I keep the dID input field then it throws an error message like following

Content Server Request Failed
Unable to submit HTML form. The HTML form is not the latest revision.

If I remove the dID input field then it throws an error message like following

Unable to execute service (null) and function computeDocID.
(System Error: Either dID must be specified or RevisionSelectionMethod must not force the choice of a dID.)

I have tried to remove and add other input fields but nothing has worked.

Please help me out with this. Please point out where I made the mistake. I copied
code pieces from your book, that too had same error.

Regards
Udita
